If you’re considering counselling, it’s normal to have questions. Here are a few I often hear. If you’re still unsure about something, feel free to get in touch.

Getting Started

No. You can book directly. Let’s start with a free 15-minute consult and see if we are a good fit for one another.

Yes. I offer a free 15-minute phone consult so you can ask questions and see if we’re a good match.

No. Although I often work with men, I welcome anyone who is seeking thoughtful, compassionate and empowering one-on-one support.

Session Details

In person in Linley Valley, Nanaimo, or online across BC. The in-person address is shared after booking.

I offer 60 minute and 90 minute sessions. Each session is a full 60 (or 90) minutes. The first consult is 15 minutes.

It’s up to you. Most clients start weekly, then shift to bi-weekly or monthly as things evolve.

Yes, depending on availability.

Fees & Insurance

$135 + GST per 60-minute session
$200 + GST per 90-minute session

Yes, for a few spots. Please inquire if affordability is a concern.

If your extended health benefits include coverage for Registered Therapeutic Counsellors (RTC), you may be eligible for reimbursement. Receipts are provided for all sessions. Please note that direct billing is not available at this time.

What If I’m New to This?

Totally fine. Many people start therapy without a clear topic. We’ll figure it out together, set a goal and work towards it at your pace.

Only if you want to. Sometimes I suggest things, but they’re always optional.

Not unless you choose to. Therapy doesn’t require reliving difficult experiences. We follow your pace. When you’re ready and willing, we can explore deeper concerns in a way that feels safe, supportive, and useful.
